Section 301 China US Import Trade update

Regarding the additional customs duties for import of certain Chinese goods, covered import products that were exported from China to the United States prior to May 10, 2019 will remain subject to an additional 10 percent tariff if they are entered for consumption into the U.S. before June 15, 2019. Originally, the deadline to import into the U.S. before the goods would be subject to an additional 25 percent tariff was June 1, 2019

Termination of Section 232 Duty For Steel and Aluminum Products

The Section 232 duty on imports of steel and aluminum articles with a country of origin of Canada or Mexico will be terminated for goods entered after May 20, 2019,

US Imports from China +25% tariff

On May 9, 2019, the USTR published a Notice of Modification of Action (84 FR 20459) in the Section 301 investigation increasing the duty rate to 25 percent on imports from China

The new tariffs apply to certain goods leaving China and entering the U.S. after midnight on Friday May 10.

Ocean cargo from China with a date export of May 9 or earlier will not be affected. Regardless of the export date, all affected 301 section 1 goods from China will be subject to the 25% tariff if they enter the U.S. after June 1, 2019.
